Sphaerodactylus là một chi tắc kè sinh sống ở châu Mỹ. Chúng khác các loài tắc kè khác bởi kích thước nhỏ và tròn, hơn là các con ngươi mắt dọc và mỗi ngón chân kết thúc bằng một lòng bàn chân dính đơn và tròn (từ đó có tên chi là "ngón chân tròn"; Sphaero = tròn, dactylus = ngón chân). Tất cả các loài trong chi này là khá nhỏ, nhưng hai loài, S. ariasae và S. parthenopion, là rất nhỏ, và với chiều dài mõm-huyệt khoảng 1.6 cm (0.6 in)—là loài bò sát nhỏ nhất thế giới.^[1]
