Joseph Achille Le Bel (21 Ocak 1847, Pechelbronn - 6 Ağustos 1930, Paris, Fransa ) Fransız kimyagerdi . Kendisi en çok stereokimya alanındaki çalışmalarıyla tanınır. Le Bel, Paris'teki École Polytechnique'de eğitim gördü. 1874'te moleküler yapı ile optik aktivite arasındaki ilişkiyi özetleyen teorisini duyurdu.[1] Bu keşif, moleküllerdeki atomların uzaysal düzenlenişiyle ilgilenen stereokimya biliminin temelini attı. Bu hipotez aynı yıl Hollandalı fiziksel kimyager Jacobus Henricus van 't Hoff tarafından ileri sürüldü ve şu anda Le Bel-van't Hoff kuralı olarak biliniyor. Le Bel, 1929'da Cosmologie Rationelle'yi (Rasyonel Kozmoloji) yazdı.
