Llewellyn Michael Kraus Boelter (Winona, Minnesota, 7 de agosto de 1898 – 27 de julho de 1966)[1] foi um engenheiro mecânico estadunidense, professor de engenharia mecãnica na Universidade da Califórnia em Los Angeles e decano fundador da UCLA Henry Samueli School of Engineering and Applied Science.[2]

No final da década de 1920 Boelter obteve proeminência por seu trabalho na área de transmissão de calor, tendo investigado a transmissão de calor em radiadores automobilísticos do tipo tubular.[3] F.W. Dittus e Boelter propuseram "uma correlação de transferência de calor convectiva para fluxos turbulentos",[4] que ficou conhecida como a equação de Dittus-Boelter. Boelter recebeu a Medalha ASME de 1957. Recebeu também o Prêmio Memorial Max Jakob de 1962.
