George Catlin (Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania, Pennsylvania, 1796ko uztailaren 26a - Jersey City, New Jersey, 1872ko abenduaren 23a) estatubatuar abenturazale, esploratzaile, bidaiari, abukatu, idazle eta margolaria izan zen.

Haurtzaroan eta gaztaroan, etxean ezagutu zituen tranpatiak, ehiztariak eta esploratzaileak. Aitari atsegin emateko zuzenbidea ikasi zuen eta bi urtez abokatu izan zen, baina bidaiatzeko eta Filadelfian artea ikasteko eskubidea utzi zuen. Erretratugile gisa nabarmendu zen, eta ordezkaritza tribal batekin topo egin ondoren, bere margolanen bidez bertako amerikarren ohiturak erretratzea erabaki zuen.

Bost bidaia egin zituen 1830 eta 1836 artean eta berrogeita hamar tribu bisitatu zituen Mississippi ibaian zehar. Bi urte geroago, Montana eta Ipar Dakotako tribuekin igaro zituen aste batzuk. Ondorengo bidaietan, Floridan eta Aintzira Handietan egon zen, eta 500 margolan baino gehiago egin zituen.

Bidaietatik bueltan, India Bilduma izeneko margolanak erakutsi zituen Estatu Batuetan eta Europan, eta arrakastaz saiatu zen Estatu Batuetako gobernuari saltzen.
