The 2022–23 New York Islanders season was the 51st season in the franchise's history.[2] It was their second season in UBS Arena.[3]

Lane Lambert was promoted to head coach on May 16, 2022,[4] after Barry Trotz was fired at the end of the 2021–22 season.[5][6]

The Islanders clinched a playoff berth on April 12, 2023, after defeating the Montreal Canadiens.[7] The Islanders lost to the Carolina Hurricanes in the First Round in six games.[8] During game 3 against the Hurricanes, the Islanders set a record for the fastest consecutive four goals in Stanley Cup playoffs history, at 2 minutes and 18 seconds.[9]
