Parambassis és un gènere de peixos pertanyent a la família dels ambàssids.[1]
Descripció
- Fan entre 3-20 cm de llargària.
- Tenen forma de rombe.
- Aletes típiques perciformes.
- Són semitransparents o transparents.[2]
Distribució geogràfica
Es troba des del Pakistan i l'Índia fins a Indonèsia, Nova Guinea i Austràlia.[2]

Ús comercial
Algunes espècies formen part de la dieta humana a nivell local i d'altres (com ara, Parambassis ranga) són populars com a peixos d'aquari.[2]
